3rd on my list of the 3 Quinta do Lago courses and whilst it is still a good course the design wasn’t as memorable as previous days. It is considerably shorter than the other 2 courses at Quinta do Lago measuring at 5,660 meters off the standard men’s tees but felt like it was in much better condition than the South course.
There were a couple of pretty cool holes – the 12th doglegs to the left going over a body of water where no matter how far down the right you hit your drive you’ll still have a lengthy shot over the water to the green and lovely undulating green with a hill backstop which really is the play. The 18th was also one of my favourite holes of the week, maybe because I had an eagle putt but you can be rewarded greatly with an aggressive driving leaving a relatively short approach for a second on a par 5 but miss and you’re in trouble.
Again the greens were quite big and fast and played very tricky to read and the pace was good, we didn’t have any delays at all.
Would highly recommend playing all 3 courses at Quinta do Lago, all different in their set up and the approach required from the golfer.
