What a stunning location for a golf course. Set in the heart of the Cairngorms with rolling hills all around and Ben Macdui in the distance (not sure if you can actually see it), Spey Valley is a very stern test.
At 6,400 meters, the length is enough to put off any average golfer but nevertheless we proceeded on our merry way. For us, many of the par 4's felt like par 5's and many of them felt like par 6's. It isn't particularly wide and has plenty of bush and with the River Spey running alongside there is plenty of trouble.
But the views alone will make it worth it, it is stunning, plenty of holes with beautiful heather and those hills in the background make it an enjoyable walk. I would recommend getting a buggy though, it is a gruelling walk!
