When you mention Brora to those that have played, a smile immediately glimmers across their face. A beautiful links course set right beside the coast, it is a wonderfully enjoyable round of golf.

It does not have the prestige of some of the other names in the area but offers the perfect blend between challenge and fun. Whispy rough neighbours the fairways instead of the thick gorse found elsewhere, the holes bend and weave but work back on each other so give you ample opportunity to miss the fairway. Stunning views sit behind the holes as they work their way out towards the hills in the background before making a sharp turn back towards the clubhouse.

Electric fences guard the greens from the wondering cows who march through the course as the sun sets over the horizon and just as you're about to finish you're hit with a tough par 3. The green sits on the edge of a large drop, come short and your ball will trickle right down to the bottom leaving you with a terribly difficult chip where going long isn't really an option either.
