A bucket list course and one that I have had the privilege to play on a couple of occasions, Royal Dornoch's Championship course is elite. One of the best in the world.

Set on the coast with beautiful views all around the course is tough but fair, it tests you but gives you respite on some holes. There is plenty of gorse but if you play smartly you can get in and around the holes with careful consideration. The greens however are where the challenge of the course culminates. Imagine rolling a ball on glass, that is often how hard putting on these can be. Lightening quick with subtle undulations makes it one of the hardest courses I have played.

Forget the price tag, it is a phenomenal course and in the most impeccable of condition. Not a blade of grass out of place!
