The Earls course was stunning. It is very long at over 6,000 meters and I think the second longest course I’ve ever played. It’s not hugely open either, there’s tree lines down a lot of the fairways and surrounding the greens. If you miss the fairway there was generally quite thick rough so overall it was quite a solid test.
There are loads of changes in elevation with undulating fairways and raised, multi-tiered greens. Some of which had 3 levels to them. The course is walkable but I’d potentially get a cart next time as walking that distance zig-zagging across fairways was quite a workout. It was really well kept, the fairways and greens in really good condition.
The practice facilities were pretty good, there’s a driving range there and a big putting green. I think we played for about £40 which was great value for what was a really good course. Definitely keen to come back and play the Kings Course in the future.
