Erewash Valley is a very pleasant course in the Nottingham area. The course starts off with a gentle par 5 shaping to the right where 3 good shots will comfortably get you to the green. Following that, a couple holes later are some pretty cool par 3’s. Erewash is built around an old quarry and they’ve managed to turn that quarry into a par 3 off the cliff, if you like, down into the quarry and then a subsequent par 3 hitting back across at that ground level. From there you get a hole with a blind tee shot and another very elevated one. There is a group of harrows that gradually work up the hill until another par 3 and then the 15th is a pretty cool/interesting tee shot where you have two options, one to hit within sight down onto the fairway with an iron or take a completely blind, tiger-line, approach over the trees.

Overall a very enjoyable round finishing with a par 3 towards the clubhouse. Interestingly during winter when I guess the quarry gets boggy they mix it up and have 2 holes as part of a redesign.

The greens were good and quite often on different levels to the fairway making club selection quite tricky. We paid £25 for a twilight round nigh on 5 o’clock and I’d say that is pretty good going for the round of golf

Practice facilities were good, there’s a driving range near enough to the club house and then a chipping and a putting green near the first tee.
