110 - Praia D'El Rey Golf Course

Well the round didn’t get off to the best of starts, because of a late morning competition we teed off 30 minutes late starting on the 10th. There are two very contrasting 9 holes. The back 9 as we started on ran along the ocean with great views but honestly I didn’t think they were the most exciting holes and the maintenance on that side of the course wasn’t particularly amazing. Having said that the front 9, which we played second, was more woodland and found that a much more interesting set of holes weaving through the trees with some narrow shots, changes in elevation and beautifully manicured fairways.

The greens at the time were rapid and had just been hollow tined and sanded. My playing partners had said they were even quicker a few days prior.

The practice facilities were great, there’s an area to hit off the grass on the driving range, separate big putting green, chipping green and a practice bunker.

I’d say €60 was a fair price for the course but try and avoid weekends as the organisation wasn’t great.
