Quinta do Peru is a beautiful Portuguese parkland course just south of Lisbon. I’ve likened it to Penha Longa in it’s design and style but probably on the flatter side with more trees and narrower fairways. For someone like myself who likes to have some room to drive the trees close to the tee box pose an interesting challenge.

As mentioned it is quite a challenging course, whilst not particularly long, the narrowness of the fairways and intimidating tree line makes you want to hit shorter, safer shots. You’re not likely to lose too many balls if you end up in the tree line as there’s no thick bush or rough below but makes it tricky to get out and quite often need to take your medicine.

Overall a really enjoyable place to place golf, built into a housing estate but the trees do a great job of protecting the feeling of being on a golf course and it’s a wonderfully quiet, peaceful environment.

The practice facilities were good, they had a nice driving range and big putting and chipping greens. The overall quality of the course was good, and the greens had just been hollow tined so difficult to give them a proper review.
