My favourite of the Dom Pedro collection of courses. It has a touch of elegance and class to it that makes it a very special golf course. The clubhouse is a lovely wooden building with a bit of a log cabin vibe to it but sits very prettily adjacent to the first tee.
The course plays quite long like most of the Dom Pedro courses at close to 6,000 meters off the men’s tees but with an abundance of trees is relatively protected from the wind. Starting with a tricky downhill par 4 you enter into this maze of holes lost in the serenity of the golfing complex. There’s such a nice mix of different holes, all unique, all challenging in their own right.
To match the design the course is in fantastic condition, greens running true and lovely lush fairways. Overall just a very enjoyable day out at the Old Course!
The price is quite high but of all the courses I’d say it’s definitely the most worth it at around €210 and you’re probably likely to spend more in the pro shop as well once you’ve come off the course and enjoyed it so much.
As with all the Dom Pedro courses, the practice facilities are very good. Lovely driving ranges with areas to hit off the grass and good chipping/putting greens.
