Back in the days when I was living in East London I played Chingford Golf Club. My memory of the course isn't amazing in the sense that I can't remember a lot of the holes but do remember it being a pretty challenging course. Set at the base of Epping Forest, the holes weave through dense swathes of trees.
It is a public course so one of the more affordable in the area and I remember it being quite dry but still in relatively good condition. Playing on a weekend we also managed to get around quite quickly without many delays.
