Situated just north of Nottingham, Oakmere is a really lovely golf club, fun course and at a really affordable rate.

Set in rolling hills, the course starts off with a testing downhill tee shot with the fairway nestled in between two strips of tall oak trees. Another downhill tee comes on the following hole with a testing par 3, bush protects the left and a run off into water on the right.

From there the course continues to weave through the trees on flatter, undulating land before coming back up the hill to finish. The back 9 follows a very similar theme and makes a really enjoyable round of golf. At 5,600 meters it isn't too long either.

Many of the holes offer picturesque views of the neighbouring countryside. Sadly the course was beaten up a bit by the very dry summer but generally was well maintained with firm, true running greens.

With a state of the art driving range with trackman monitors and a large chipping, putting area, the club offers great practice facilities. At £32 for a round in the summer it is an absolute steal!
