Goose Valley is a really nicely designed, well looked after course in the Plettenberg Bay area. It is another estate course, as many are in this part of South Africa and at times you do feel like you’re walking through peoples’ back gardens. The fairways are nice and lush, and the greens were in great quality. The course has a bit of a linksy feel with undulating fairways and lots of pot bunkers. The course isn’t too hilly, there’s a few holes where you play up towards elevated greens but nothing too major.

Played there mid-morning on a Sunday and the pace of play was really good, the course wasn’t too busy at all. Sadly the weather was quite misty so might have missed some of the scenery.

The facilities are really good, nice driving range with really good quality balls! There’s a great pro shop, really well stocked and a lovely clubhouse running parallel to the 18th.

Would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
