I think this course is hugely underrated. It is just down the road from the renowned Arabella but Hermanus is in almost as good condition. There are 27 holes, we played the south course which consists of holes 10-27. The facilities are great, there’s a very picturesque driving range with a mountain background and plenty of area to practice your putting and chipping.
The pro shop is pretty big, managed to find a bunch of second hand Pro V1s for R10 each, absolute bargain! The clubhouse is lovely, big patio to enjoy a beer after and the halfway house had the most variety of food the whole time I saw in South Africa.
The course is in very good condition and relatively challenging with but nothing too difficult. There’s many trees, plenty of bush and some marsh/swamp on the back 9 to contend with. Be wary of the puff adder near the 15/16th, no retrieving your ball if it’s gone. Many of the holes have spectacular mountain backdrops and you can hear the sea close by but sadly no views of it.
