83 - Metropolitan Golf Club

What a great location for a golf course, right in the heart of the Cape Town waterfront. The course itself is ostensibly a 9-hole course but with a twist that there are separate greens on some holes and combined, incredibly large ones on others. There are separate tee boxes for all 18 holes. It’s in pretty good condition and the greens are good.

It’s right near the Sea Point stadium and incredibly the friend I was playing with managed to put a ball on the roof of the stadium. I did find the pace of play quite slow even though were started fairly early in the morning but other than that it’s a nice place for a bit of holiday golf. The 9th/18th is a pretty cool par 3 over water in front of the club house, pretty challenging hole as it’s probably 160-170m long depending on the pin position.
