Ealing sits right in the heart of west London and is very accessible by car from people in the area. I played here in the middle of winter and it must’ve been about 6 degrees so I don’t like to be too harsh on the quality of the course but felt it could have been in a bit nicer condition with a little effort. The bunkers at this time of the year are more akin to mud than fine sand but the fairways and rough was a little tatty in places. The layout of the course is okay, maybe lacking a bit of imagination? I think most of the par 4’s, par 5’s were pretty straight. Saying that the par 4 4th hole is an interesting challenge with a driveable green but get your drive slightly misdirected or leave it short and it’s practically gone. Alongside that hole however was a stream filled with rubbish so wasn’t too pleasing on the eye.
The practice facilities were good, there’s no driving range but multiple long nets you can hit into and separate putting and chipping greens. The clubhouse has a nice community feel about it.
If you’re living in west London you might play it but I’d probably venture a little further out to find something in a little more interesting. I think £70 is a bit steep for summer green fees but hey it’s London.
