After playing the Vignes course in the morning I settled into a mid-afternoon round on the Chateaux course and it was another great experience. A slightly different type of course to the Vignes with the inclusion of more water hazards it offers a similar and probably more challenging round than it’s neighbouring course with a lot more thick rough and some narrower fairways. It was a bit paradoxical playing this course as I thought the condition of the fairways wasn’t quite as good as the Vignes course but the greens were slightly better.

Apart from a couple of the world’s top 100 destinations I haven’t played at a golf club that had 2 courses as good as they had at Medoc. €120 isn’t cheap but if you’re able to get a combo deal on the 2 courses then I’d really recommend it, they’re great fun and unique from each other in their layout and features.

The practice facilities are really good, there’s a big driving range as well as chipping areas and a large putting green. The pro shop was really well stocked as well and pretty reasonably priced so get yourself some Medoc merchandise!
