What a lovely venue to play golf. I was amazed how quiet and peaceful the course was despite being so close to a major city. The building housing the clubhouse, pro shop and locker room is a beautiful old building and the first tee is equally as impressive with a white picket fence surrounding the box.
The course itself is in great condition, very well looked after with the fairways well-manicured and small touches like the bunkers being trimmed and regularly raked making it very impressive on the eye. There’s a fair number of bunkers on the course but they’re quite strangely placed either very short or very long for the average tee shot. The par 4’s tended to be quite long and the par 5’s reachable in two shots so a little on the shorter side. The par 3’s were the prettier and more memorable holes on the course, especially the 17th which is a very impressive raised green and pretty view, probably my favourite hole on the course.
Some of the par 4’s could’ve done with a bit more too them, the course was generally quite flat so maybe a few more twists could be there in the design but in general a very enjoyable, interesting round of golf.
I played with another visitor, and we were after a scramble tournament so the pace of play was very slow, almost 5 hours. Credit where credit is due though we did overhear one of the golf club’s senior management giving the tournament a hard time for their slow play. Was quite refreshing to see.
I think €150 is a little steep but given the proximity to Paris you’re probably expecting to pay a premium. The practice facilities are pretty good, they’ve got a wide driving range, pitching area and a large putting green. There is also a 9-hole course which looked to be in great condition with some cool holes so definitely worth checking that out as well.
