About an hour east of Amsterdam is Het Rijk van Nunspeet. A tricky, challenging parkland course in a wonderfully tranquil location. You could hear a pin drop here.
The club has 3 9 hole loops all set in the forest. Narrow fairways provide tricky tee shots, requiring pin point accuracy where driver on my holes is needed but no recommended because of the tightness of the course. At 5,800 meters and with this difficulty it leaves long approach shots to greens tucked in behind trees or nestled in the mounds.
On my visit, I played the Zuid & Noord courses and the Noord was the slightly more open of the two. The courses was in good condition, the fairways we very well looked after considering it was a very dry summer. The greens were quite sandy and on the faster side.
It is a good course but I felt €77 was quite steep as a green fee.
