One Saturday morning, I decided to go on a solo mission to find a course a little further away and away from the overcrowded Amsterdam options. Stumbling across a free slot at De Kroonsprins Vianen, I decided to give it a try. Paired with two Dutchies, Pieter & Henk I was lucky enough to be provided with some local knowledge and two gentlemen who were a great laugh. Not the greatest golfers but they couldn't have cared less.

On a cold Autumnal morning we set out across the subtle undulating fairways of the Kroonprins course. On what is a relatively flat area of land they have done a brilliant job of making subtle lifts and bumps to provide a bit more interest than the typical flat Dutch course. There is no shortage of water however and it is really open to the elements. I can imagine the wind pumps across here on some days.

The course was also in cracking condition, the fairways were lush, the greens ran firm and this is some going in what was a damp October. Not to leave out the bunkering which weren't far off what you'd get on a top tier course.
